Bring your pinny and roll up your sleeves, this special course has been designed to help develop your artisan culinary skills as we create beautiful bread, both sweet and savoury, in our London kitchen…

Sara Ward will welcome you to Hen Corner with fresh coffee and homemade biscuits. After an introduction to our time together you will have opportunity to stroll around the garden visiting the chickens and bees, then off to the conservatory and kitchen to knead that dough…

Whilst the aromas of warm baking fills the air, and other batches are proving, we will enjoy a simple lunch to fuel us for the tasks of the afternoon.

Recipes for the day may include:

  • Rosemary Focaccia
  • Artisan Cheese Bread
  • Cinnamon Swirls
  • Sticky Fruit Buns

Everyone goes home with a goodie bag including recipe sheets and your homemade bread and buns.

‘I had a fantastic day learning how to bake at Hen Corner. Sara welcomed me with a warm cinnamon swirl and organic tea in her lovely garden. The chickens were all around and you can breath a fresh healthy air (it really doesn’t seem to be in London!). During the day we learnt to bake different types of sweet and sour breads and my family couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw (and tasted) what I baked. Thanks Sara for your hospitality, I will definitely recommend Hen Corner’s courses!’  TripAdvisor, September 2015

‘Hen Corner is a charming place where ordinary people are doing extraordinary things, and showing us how we can have a slice of the country life in an urban environment.’ Spencer, 17 June 2014
